VDS_E_INVALID_SERVICE_FLAG

VDS_E_INVALID_SERVICE_FLAG means a service configuration or property mask contains unsupported VDS_SERVICE_FLAG bits. Service flags describe global VDS state and capabilities and must not be confused with provider, disk or volume flags.

Validate flags at the service boundary

Use the enumeration required by the exact service method or structure.
Log unknown returned bits but reject undefined bits in caller-supplied masks.
Do not copy flags between VDS_SERVICE_PROP and provider or storage-object requests.

An invalid flag is a caller or provider contract problem, not a transient storage-device condition. Refreshing disks will not change the validity of the bitmask. Correct the code or configuration that constructed it, then re-read service properties to verify the active service state.
