VDS_E_VOLUME_SHRINK_FVE_RECOVERY

VDS_E_VOLUME_SHRINK_FVE_RECOVERY means BitLocker has marked the volume for recovery and VDS will not shrink it. MS-VDS instructs the caller to recover the volume with BitLocker tools and then retry the operation.

Recovery state must be resolved before resize

BitLocker recovery can use a recovery password or recovery key according to the configured protection and recovery policy. The important sequence is to regain authorized access and return the volume to a known protection state before modifying its size. A forceful partition edit bypasses the safety boundary represented by this HRESULT.
