FSRM_E_SYNC_TASK_TIMEOUT

FSRM_E_SYNC_TASK_TIMEOUT means synchronization of classification property definitions did not finish within the allowed task interval. In Dynamic Access Control deployments, file servers synchronize resource-property definitions that are enabled in Active Directory before rules can use them consistently.

Check synchronization inputs and directory access

  • Verify domain connectivity and the availability of the configuration partition containing resource properties.
  • Inspect the FSRM and directory-service logs for the definition on which synchronization stopped.
  • Run synchronization again only after confirming that the previous task is not still active.

A timeout does not prove that every definition failed. Compare the local FSRM property list with the enabled Active Directory resource properties and identify missing or stale entries. Avoid deleting local definitions blindly, because existing rules and file-management jobs may still reference them. Correct directory, DNS, or schema issues and then perform a controlled resynchronization.
