WINBIO_E_INVALID_CALIBRATION_FORMAT_ARRAY
WINBIO_E_INVALID_CALIBRATION_FORMAT_ARRAY is an adapter-contract failure during WBF dynamic calibration negotiation. The sensor adapter is asked to report the calibration formats it supports so the engine adapter can select a compatible representation; a malformed returned array prevents that negotiation from being trusted.
Validate the sensor adapter output
- Inspect the implementation of
SensorAdapterQueryCalibrationFormatsand log the reported element count and format identifiers. - Verify array storage remains valid for the lifetime required by the callback contract and that count/size calculations cannot overflow.
- Test the sensor and engine adapter pair together; calibration negotiation crosses both sides of the biometric pipeline.
The Windows SDK exposes separate callbacks for querying sensor calibration formats, selecting one in the engine, and setting the selected format back on the sensor. This HRESULT occurs before calibration data transfer itself, so debugging buffer contents is premature until the format array is structurally valid.
