SCARD_E_CERTIFICATE_UNAVAILABLE The requested certificate could not be obtained from the smart-card path. The card may be visible while its certificate is absent, inaccessible, not propagated to the user store, or unavailable through the selected provider.
What to check
- Confirm that the card is present and stable before investigating certificate enrollment or logon policy.
- Check certificate propagation and the smart-card event logs to distinguish a read failure from an absent certificate.
- Verify that the application is asking for the correct certificate and user context; do not assume every certificate on the card is available to every caller.
