WU_E_PT_HTTP_STATUS_BAD_METHOD
WU_E_PT_HTTP_STATUS_BAD_METHOD maps to HTTP 405. The client reached the server, but the endpoint or an intermediary rejected the HTTP method used for the Windows Update request.
What to check
- Verify the configured WSUS URL, virtual directories, and any reverse-proxy rules in front of the service.
- Inspect IIS and proxy logs for the exact request path and method that produced 405.
- Check whether a web-application firewall or reverse proxy is rewriting, blocking, or routing update-service methods incorrectly.
