WU_E_DS_STOREFILELOCKED
WU_E_DS_STOREFILELOCKED means the Windows Update data store could not initialize because another process had locked the store file. Unlike a short logical lock, this can prevent the data store from starting at all.
What to check
- Reboot to clear stale process handles and then retry before taking repair action.
- Check for security, backup, indexing, or management tools that may be holding update-store files open.
- Do not delete or replace store files while Windows Update or related services are running.
