WU_E_DS_SERVICEEXPIRED
WU_E_DS_SERVICEEXPIRED means the local registration for an update service is no longer valid. The client cannot complete the requested operation until it refreshes or replaces that registration.
What to verify
- Check which update service was used and whether its registration, certificate, policy, or endpoint changed.
- Run a fresh scan or service refresh rather than relying on stale cached service state.
- In managed environments, check the client policy and WSUS configuration that should register the service.
