FVE_E_POLICY_PASSPHRASE_NOT_ALLOWED
FVE_E_POLICY_PASSPHRASE_NOT_ALLOWED The requested password/passphrase protector is not permitted by the effective BitLocker policy. Password protectors are configured separately from recovery passwords and TPM startup PINs.
What to check
- Confirm the drive type and the applicable password-protector policy.
- Use an approved protector type, or have the policy owner explicitly allow password protectors where appropriate.
- Do not substitute a recovery password for a regular password protector; they serve different recovery and unlock purposes.
manage-bde -protectors -get <drive>
Microsoft: Configure BitLocker policy settings
Microsoft: manage-bde -protectors
