NS_E_NO_FORMATS

What NS_E_NO_FORMATS means

NS_E_NO_FORMATS (0xC00D006B) means no usable media format is available for the requested Windows Media operation.

Evidence to preserve

Record the source, stream or output object, the formats advertised by each side, and the exact point at which format enumeration became empty.

Interpretation

This is a format-negotiation result. It is not equivalent to a missing file or a generic codec crash: the operation has no compatible format to select.

Recovery and verification

Provide or negotiate at least one format supported by the source and destination, then recreate the affected media object so format enumeration runs again.
