No readable disc is present in the selected drive
NS_E_NO_CD (0xC00D0FA0) is produced during media-presence detection, before track reading or ripping. The selected optical drive currently does not present a readable CD to Player.
Check the discovery boundary
Record drive letter/device identity, tray state, media-change notification, device readiness, and whether the operating system enumerates the inserted disc. Confirm Player is addressing the same drive the user expects.
Retest
Insert a known-good supported disc, refresh/reacquire the drive, and repeat detection. If the disc is present but classified as the wrong medium, diagnose the classification HRESULT rather than treating it as “no CD.”
