NS_E_MEDIACD_READ_ERROR
The disc was recognized, but reading failed
NS_E_MEDIACD_READ_ERROR (0xC00D10CD) occurs after the optical medium has already been classified as an audio/media CD. The failure is in the subsequent read path, so it is different from “no disc,” “not an audio CD,” or inability to construct the CD reader.
Preserve device-level evidence
Record drive identity, firmware/driver, track and sector position, digital/analog read mode, and the first lower-level I/O result. Retest the same sector or track before changing the rip destination or encoder settings.
Interpretation
If another disc reads normally in the same drive, investigate media condition. If many discs fail at the same read boundary, focus on the drive/driver/filter path. Destination-path errors happen later and should not be mixed into this diagnosis.
