NS_E_BKGDOWNLOAD_NOJOBPOINTER: the Player background-download path has no live job interface for the operation
NS_E_BKGDOWNLOAD_NOJOBPOINTER (0xC00D1260) identifies a specific Windows Media/platform boundary: the Player background-download path has no live job interface for the operation. Keep this stage visible instead of collapsing it into a generic playback, network, or configuration failure.
Evidence to preserve
Record job ID, interface lifetime, cancellation/completion callbacks, reference-release timing, and whether the callback arrived after job cleanup.
Controlled verification
Keep the job interface alive for the required asynchronous lifetime or reacquire the active job before use; then repeat the same callback path.
