NS_E_PROFILE_MISMATCH
NS_E_PROFILE_MISMATCH: follow the state transition
For NS_E_PROFILE_MISMATCH (0xC00D1B7B), the failed transition is: the selected Windows Media profile does not match the source or operation requirements.
Capture before retry
capture profile GUID/XML, stream types, source-group streams, codecs, bitrates, and the API validating the profile.
Prove the fix at the owning API
select or generate a profile whose stream contract matches the source and intended output, then revalidate before encoding. Keep unrelated inputs unchanged so a changed result has diagnostic value.
