NS_E_VBRMODE_MISMATCH

VBR mode must be consistent for the shared source index

NS_E_VBRMODE_MISMATCH (0xC00D1B9D) is raised when the same source index is configured with different variable-bit-rate modes in different audiences. For example, one audience may use quality-based VBR while another uses constrained VBR.

Diagnose the cross-audience field

Export the active profile and list the VBR mode for the same source index in every audience. Record codec and format as context, but do not assume a codec mismatch unless a separate HRESULT says so.

Retest

Choose one supported VBR mode consistently for that source index, validate the profile, and repeat the original encoder operation. If bitrate or buffer constraints then fail, preserve that new result. Changing multiple codec and audience properties at once makes it impossible to prove which profile constraint caused this code.
