MF_E_INVALIDMEDIATYPE

MF_E_INVALIDMEDIATYPE means that the proposed format cannot be accepted by the target object. Typical causes are contradictory attributes, an unsupported subtype, missing dimensions or rate information, or a format change that the pipeline cannot convert.

Negotiate instead of guessing

Start from types advertised by GetInputAvailableType or GetOutputAvailableType when the object provides them.
Log the complete media-type attributes, including major type, subtype, frame size, frame rate, sample rate, channels, and bitrate where relevant.
Use test-only type setting when supported before committing a type to a live pipeline.

This code is about format compatibility; it does not prove that the input file itself is corrupt.
