STATUS_CLUSTER_CSV_AUTO_PAUSE_ERROR
CSVFS entered an automatic pause and refresh transition
STATUS_CLUSTER_CSV_AUTO_PAUSE_ERROR records that CSVFS paused the volume to refresh information. It is not equivalent to permanent volume loss. Microsoft notes that isolated Event ID 5120 entries carrying this exact status can be benign, but the surrounding event sequence still matters.
Do not suppress every CSV warning because one entry has this code. Correlate the event with the volume state, storage/network errors, and repeated pauses. A short isolated transition and recurring auto-pauses with other statuses require different responses.
What to verify
- Whether this is an isolated Event ID 5120 entry or part of a repeated sequence.
- CSV state before and after the event, including direct versus redirected I/O.
- Concurrent storage, MPIO, cluster-network, CSVFS, and failover-cluster events.
