STATUS_NDIS_INTERFACE_NOT_FOUND

The operation refers to an interface identity that NDIS cannot resolve

STATUS_NDIS_INTERFACE_NOT_FOUND narrows the fault to interface selection. The system can have an adapter stack while the particular interface identity that a caller, filter, virtual switch, or management component asked for is absent, stale, or no longer exposed.

This differs from media disconnection and often from adapter-not-found: the diagnostic key is the identity used at the NDIS boundary, such as the interface or binding context, and the stack configuration that should have created it.

Evidence that narrows it

Record the interface or binding identity, associated adapter identity, and the component that produced the request.
Compare the current driver-stack inventory with saved identifiers from before an adapter reset, reinstall, or virtual-switch change.
Re-enumerate through the owning NDIS or network-configuration API instead of fabricating a replacement identifier.
