A disk set cannot be handled as an independent unit when one or more of its volumes also use disks outside that set. This is different from a single invalid extent: it is a membership-boundary problem in a multi-disk dynamic volume.

Expand the inventory before an import or move

Enumerate every disk and volume in the disk group and map each volume to all participating disks. Include spanned, striped, mirrored, and RAID-5 structures rather than inspecting only the currently visible drive letter. A recovery or import operation should include the complete related set, not an arbitrary subset copied from one enclosure.
