E_IMAPI_RECORDER_NO_SUCH_FEATURE

MMC feature pages describe recorder capabilities. IDiscRecorder2 exposes a supported-feature list, and IDiscRecorder2Ex can retrieve feature page data. This HRESULT means the requested feature type is not supported by the device.

Gate feature-specific logic on advertised capabilities

  • Record the requested IMAPI_FEATURE_PAGE_TYPE.
  • Enumerate supported feature pages for the recorder instead of assuming every optical device implements the same feature set.
  • Choose another format/device path when the required feature is absent.

This differs from E_IMAPI_RECORDER_FEATURE_IS_NOT_CURRENT: an unsupported feature is absent from the supported set, while a non-current feature is known but not active for the current configuration/media. Device replacement or a different supported workflow can resolve a missing capability; reissuing the same feature request cannot.
