What does Intel IPP status -202 (ippStsRoiShiftMatrixErr) mean?

ippStsRoiShiftMatrixErr

This status is tied to matrix and ROI addressing. The ROI shift must describe a valid displacement in the underlying element grid; a negative shift or one that is not divisible by the element size cannot be mapped safely.

It is most often caused by mixing byte-based pitch arithmetic with element-based offsets, or by reusing a shift computed for a different sample type.

Diagnostic focus

  • Check the data type size used when computing the ROI shift.
  • Verify that the shifted ROI still describes elements, not partial bytes inside an element.
  • Compare the shift with the step/stride values passed to the same primitive.
