ERROR_SXS_INVALID_XML_NAMESPACE_URI
ERROR_SXS_INVALID_XML_NAMESPACE_URI means that the manifest contains an invalid XML namespace URI. For a conventional Windows side-by-side assembly manifest, the required default namespace on the assembly element is part of the format Windows uses to interpret the document.
What to check
- Check the root
assemblyelement and all namespace declarations for spelling, quoting, and unintended template substitutions. - Compare the deployed manifest with the documented application-manifest schema rather than repairing only the reported attribute.
- Ensure XML transformations preserve namespace declarations when merging or generating manifests.
A syntactically valid URI can still be invalid for the Windows SxS manifest schema if it is not the expected namespace.
