WORKER_THREAD_RETURNED_WITH_BAD_IO_PRIORITY
WORKER_THREAD_RETURNED_WITH_BAD_IO_PRIORITY catches worker-thread state leaked by a called worker routine. Microsoft says the routine wrongly modified the worker thread's I/O priority and returned without restoring the expected state.
The parameters point back to the work item
- Parameter 1 is the worker-routine address; use
lnto resolve the responsible symbol or driver. - Parameter 2 is the current I/O-priority value detected on return.
- Parameters 3 and 4 preserve the work-item parameter and work-item address.
Why this is not an I/O device failure
The stop code describes thread priority state, not a failed disk or network request. Review every exit path in the worker routine for code that changes I/O priority and fails to restore it, including error and cancellation paths. The work-item arguments help correlate the leaked state with the queued operation.
