Cause
This error normally appears when a kernel-mode driver uses too much stack space. It can also appear when serious data corruption occurs in the kernel.

Diagnostic focus
Use Parameter 1 to inspect the trap frame and the thread stack at the point of overflow. Look for deep or recursive driver call chains, unusually large stack locals, repeated filter callbacks, and corruption that has displaced the normal stack boundaries. The useful distinction is between genuine kernel-stack exhaustion and a damaged stack pointer, because reducing workload will not fix a driver that recursively consumes stack or writes outside its frame.
