ERROR_CTX_TD_ERROR is a transport-driver failure reported by the Remote Desktop Services stack. It does not by itself identify whether the root cause is a listener, network path, filter driver, or host component.
What to check
- Correlate the time of the error with System, TerminalServices, firewall, VPN, and network-interface events.
- Verify that the RDP listener is reachable and that another service is not conflicting with the configured port.
- Compare an affected connection with a successful one to isolate client-specific paths or policies.
