ERROR_CTX_CLIENT_QUERY_TIMEOUT
ERROR_CTX_CLIENT_QUERY_TIMEOUT means the server sent a connection-related query to the RDP client and did not receive a response in time. A client crash, unstable network path, stalled gateway/VPN, or incompatible client can produce this result.
What to check
- Compare the client and server logs at the same timestamp to see whether the connection was dropped before the query completed.
- Test a current Microsoft Remote Desktop client over the same network path.
- Check firewall, VPN, gateway, and idle/keep-alive policies before treating the problem as a server-session failure.
Test-NetConnection -ComputerName rd-session-host -Port 3389
