ERROR_CTX_SHADOW_NOT_RUNNING
ERROR_CTX_SHADOW_NOT_RUNNING means an attempt was made to stop remote control of a session that is not currently being shadowed. It is a state mismatch rather than a failure of the RDP listener.
What to check
- Refresh session state before sending a shadow-stop operation; the user may have disconnected or the shadow connection may already have ended.
- Confirm the target host and session ID are correct in multi-host RDS deployments.
- Do not reset the user session merely to clear this status unless there is a separate operational reason.
