Resolution
The system-call address and current IRQL identify which kernel path failed to lower IRQL to PASSIVE_LEVEL before returning to user mode.
Diagnostic focus
Parameter 1 identifies the system-call routine that was returning to user mode, while Parameter 2 records the IRQL that was still active. Walk backward from that return path and look for an unmatched IRQL raise, spin-lock acquisition, or other kernel synchronization operation in a driver callback reached by the system call. The defect is the failure to restore PASSIVE_LEVEL before the user-mode transition; retrying the application does not correct that kernel state imbalance.
