DNS_ERROR_ZONE_LOCKED
DNS_ERROR_ZONE_LOCKED means the zone is temporarily locked for an operation. This can be caused by an administrative change, a load, a transfer, signing, or another serialized DNS Server task.
What to check
- Wait for the current operation to finish and verify whether the zone lock clears before retrying.
- Check DNS diagnostics for the operation that acquired the lock.
- Avoid restarting the DNS Server service just to clear a transient lock unless the operation is demonstrably stuck and the impact is understood.
