DNS_ERROR_SECONDARY_REQUIRES_MASTER_IP means a secondary zone has no master DNS server address from which it can obtain zone data. A secondary is read-only and depends on its primary or master source.

What to check

  • Configure at least one reachable master DNS server IP address for the secondary zone.
  • Verify UDP and TCP port 53 reachability and make sure the primary permits transfers to this secondary.
  • Confirm that the master actually hosts the intended authoritative zone.
