DNS_ERROR_ZONE_IS_SHUTDOWN
DNS_ERROR_ZONE_IS_SHUTDOWN means the zone is not currently available for the requested operation. The server may have disabled it after a load or configuration problem, or the zone may be transitioning during an administrative operation.
Check why DNS Server marked the zone unavailable and resolve the earlier load, storage, or configuration event first. Administrative record changes should wait until the zone has returned to a stable loaded state.
What to check
- Check DNS Server events for the first error that caused the zone to become unavailable.
- Verify the zone’s storage source, master configuration, and required SOA/NS data.
- Restore the underlying configuration or data problem before attempting repeated updates against the shut-down zone.
