IDS_MON_WEIGHT_OUT_OF_RANGE

IDS_MON_WEIGHT_OUT_OF_RANGE is a ranking-expression validation error. Windows Search supports weighted terms in the ISABOUT form of CONTAINS, but the weight is a normalized relevance input rather than an arbitrary score or percentage.

Validate weights before serializing the full-text condition

Keep each weight in the inclusive 0.0 to 1.0 range expected by the parser.
Log the final decimal text using an invariant format so locale-specific commas do not alter the SQL.
Do not pass rank values such as 1000 or UI percentages such as 75 directly as WEIGHT arguments; normalize them first.

The documented CONTAINS examples use fractional weights inside ISABOUT. Weight changes influence relevance calculation; they do not filter documents by themselves. When this error appears, inspect the query generator’s scale and formatting logic. Changing the indexed content or waiting for a crawl cannot make an invalid weight expression parse.
