MF_S_CLOCK_STOPPED
MF_S_CLOCK_STOPPED is a successful but important result from IMFTimer::SetTimer. The timer request was accepted while the associated presentation clock was stopped. Its callback will not be dispatched until the clock starts.
Do not mistake deferred dispatch for a lost callback
- Keep the returned timer cancellation key and callback state alive while the request remains pending.
- Verify whether the clock is intentionally stopped because the presentation is stopped or has not started yet.
- If teardown begins before the clock restarts, cancel the timer and make the callback resilient to the documented cancellation race.
Polling wall-clock time will not make this timer fire: IMFTimer is tied to the clock's timing domain. A callback that appears "stuck" can therefore be correct behavior until presentation-clock state changes.
