STATUS_FLT_IO_COMPLETE
STATUS_FLT_IO_COMPLETE is a Filter Manager completion result, not a generic I/O failure. It tells the initiating minifilter that a lower instance completed the request in its pre-operation callback, so the request did not continue to the base file system.
This matters with FltPerformAsynchronousIo. The initiating filter must inspect the completed callback data and its IoStatus; it must not assume that a normal file-system completion or a matching post-operation path will follow. A lower filter may have completed the request for its own policy or redirection reason.
What to record
- The initiating instance, the lower minifilter instances, and the requested major operation.
- The final
IoStatus.Statusand information field, rather than this framework result alone. - Whether the lower filter intentionally completed the operation and whether retrying would repeat the same policy decision.
