STATUS_RM_ALREADY_STARTED
The resource manager lifecycle was started twice
A KTM resource manager must be created, recovered when durable, and then placed in a state where it can receive transaction notifications. This status means the start transition has already occurred for the same resource-manager object.
The important question is not how to force another start, but why initialization ran more than once. Duplicate starts can come from service restart code, parallel worker initialization, or retry logic that does not track the resource-manager state.
What to inspect
- Identify the resource-manager GUID and handle used by both start attempts.
- Serialize startup and recovery so only one owner performs the state transition.
- Verify notification delivery is active before suppressing the duplicate call.
- Do not recreate the resource manager solely because this informational status was returned.
