RPC_E_CONNECTION_TERMINATED

RPC_E_CONNECTION_TERMINATED means that the COM RPC channel used by this proxy has ended or is no longer valid. Other COM connections in the same process can remain usable, so this is not automatically a process-wide failure.

What to check

Determine whether the out-of-process server exited, restarted, or lost a required RPC connection.
Discard the affected interface proxy and reacquire the object through its documented activation or connection path.
Collect client and server logs around the disconnect instead of repeatedly using the same proxy.

Reusing an invalid proxy can turn one connection failure into a cascade of misleading HRESULTs.
