RPC_E_SYS_CALL_FAILED
RPC_E_SYS_CALL_FAILED means that a system call used by the COM RPC runtime failed. It is a wrapper-level HRESULT, so the surrounding logs and any earlier Win32 or RPC error are needed to identify the actual failed operation.
What to collect
- Record the first failure in the client and server logs, not only the final COM HRESULT.
- Check process resources, security context, service availability, and the active RPC endpoint.
- Reproduce with the same user, process architecture, and deployment version where possible.
A generic system-call failure should not be diagnosed as a COM registration problem without supporting evidence.
