RPC_E_INVALIDMETHOD
RPC_E_INVALIDMETHOD means that COM could not find the requested method on the target server interface. It often indicates an interface-version mismatch, an invalid proxy-stub pair, or an incorrect method contract.
What to inspect
- Verify the interface definition and method order used to build both client and server.
- Check that the correct proxy-stub and type library are registered for the deployed version.
- Avoid binary-compatible assumptions when an interface definition has changed.
For custom interfaces, changing an existing method layout is a compatibility break; publish a new interface instead.
