VDS_E_INITIALIZE_NOT_CALLED
VDS_E_INITIALIZE_NOT_CALLED means that A hardware-provider initialization method was not called before another provider operation. This is primarily a caller or provider lifecycle problem: the object exists, but it has not entered the state required for the requested method.
What to check
- Verify the provider initialization sequence and make sure the initialization call completed successfully before using provider-specific methods.
- Do not reuse an object reference from an earlier failed initialization attempt without rebuilding the expected lifecycle.
- When the failure comes from software you maintain, log the provider CLSID, method order, and HRESULT from the initialization call.
