VDS_E_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND
VDS_E_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND means that VDS could not locate the disk, volume, provider, or other object named by the request. A previously enumerated object can disappear after hardware changes, disk rescans, configuration updates, or a provider refresh.
What to check
- Re-enumerate the relevant VDS collection and resolve the object again instead of continuing with a cached identifier.
- Check whether the disk, volume, or provider was removed, taken offline, or changed by another storage-management tool.
- Keep object identity and discovery time in diagnostics so stale references can be distinguished from a genuinely missing device.
