VDS_E_DISK_NOT_INITIALIZED
VDS_E_DISK_NOT_INITIALIZED means that the selected disk has not been initialized for partition management. VDS cannot perform operations that require a recognized disk layout until an appropriate partition style is present, but initialization can overwrite layout metadata on the wrong disk.
What to check
- Verify the physical disk identity, capacity, and existing data-recovery requirements before considering initialization.
- Check whether the disk appears as new, offline, foreign, or unreadable, and rule out a connection or controller problem first.
- Choose an approved partition style only after confirming compatibility with the intended system and storage workflow.
