VDS_E_ONE_EXTENT_PER_DISK

Microsoft documents this restriction directly for IVdsPack::CreateVolume: one disk cannot contribute to multiple members or multiple plexes of the same volume. The VDS_INPUT_DISK documentation states the same relationship from the input side. A disk may contribute to several different volumes, but that does not permit one create request to reuse it as separate contributors within one volume topology.

Why this state matters

The error is structural, not a free-space shortage. A large disk with several free extents still cannot be duplicated across mirror plexes or stripe members when the method requires distinct disks. Inspect the disk-ID/member/plex mapping before looking at capacity. If the intended design needs independent fault domains, using multiple extents on one physical disk would not provide that property anyway.
