VDS_E_CRASHDUMP_DISK

VDS_DF_CRASHDUMP_DISK indicates that a volume on the disk is used for crash-dump storage. VDS includes crash-dump storage among the critical roles protected from clean, delete, and format paths. This is not the same as an old dump file simply being present on the volume; the service role reflects current system crash-dump configuration.

Why this state matters

The diagnostic action is to capture the VDS role and the requested destructive operation. If crash-dump placement is being changed intentionally, complete the supported system configuration transition and verify the role after reboot or refresh as appropriate. Do not treat force parameters intended for ordinary data or OEM partitions as an override for a critical crash-dump disk.
