Change usage, not the system definition
- Disable or remove custom rules that assign the property when that behavior is no longer required.
- Create a separate custom property for organization-specific values.
- Check reports and file-management jobs before removing any references to the system property.
Registry deletion or direct manipulation of the FSRM configuration store is not a supported workaround. If a system property appears unsuitable, leave the definition intact and stop using it in custom policy. A replacement property should have a distinct name and documented migration plan so existing stored values are not confused with the new schema.
