FSRM_E_RMS_TEMPLATE_NOT_FOUND means a classification-based protection task references an AD RMS rights-policy template that the file server can no longer resolve. The job can still exist even though its protection policy target was removed or renamed.
Repair the protection policy reference
- Confirm that the intended template is published and available to the server account.
- Refresh the template list and select an existing template in the file-management job.
- Test protection on a copy of a supported document before reenabling a continuous job.
Do not substitute a template only because its display name looks similar; usage rights can differ materially. Classification-based encryption embeds access restrictions in the protected document, so a wrong template can have lasting consequences after the file leaves the server. Record the template identity and test both protection and authorized opening before processing production files.
