APPX_E_INVALID_BLOCKMAP means that the package block map cannot be parsed or does not satisfy the app package format. The block map records package files and cryptographic hashes for their data blocks.
What to check
- Do not hand-edit
AppxBlockMap.xml; regenerate it by rebuilding the package. - Ensure that the package is not modified, recompressed, or partially replaced after the block map is generated and signed.
- Compare hashes and file lists from a known-good build when the error appears after copying or downloading an artifact.
A valid block map is required for integrity verification and differential servicing of the package.
