CRYPT_E_STREAM_MSG_NOT_READY
A streamed cryptographic message has not received enough bytes to expose the requested parameter. This is often an expected intermediate condition during incremental decoding, not a malformed-message verdict.
What to check
- Continue feeding message data through CryptMsgUpdate until the required parameter becomes available or the input is complete.
- Only call CryptMsgGetParam for a parameter after the required portion of the header has been decoded.
- Apply a message-size limit while streaming; Microsoft notes that an artificially large header can otherwise consume excessive memory.
