WINBIO_E_SELECTION_REQUIRED
WINBIO_E_SELECTION_REQUIRED is specific to enrollment where the sample buffer can represent more than one person. The framework cannot continue building a single enrollment template until the client identifies which individual in the captured data is the enrollment subject.
Complete the enrollment selection step
- Use the enrollment-selection API and the candidate information returned by the framework rather than guessing from capture order.
- Keep the same enrollment transaction active while the user or application selects the intended individual.
- After selection, continue capture/commit for that subject and keep identity selection separate from biometric matching results.
Microsoft includes WinBioEnrollSelect in the WBF client API specifically to select the individual to enroll when data for multiple people is present. This status is therefore not a request for another arbitrary sample. The caller must resolve the subject ambiguity before the engine can maintain a coherent enrollment object.
