SPAPI_E_NO_DRIVER_SELECTED

SPAPI_E_NO_DRIVER_SELECTED means that installation code requested an operation that needs a selected driver, but the device information set or device element has none. Enumerating available drivers is not the same as selecting one for the current device.

How to investigate

Build the compatible or class-driver list before asking for the selected driver or starting installation.
Check SetupAPI.dev.log for ranking and signature decisions that may have left the list empty.
Use the selected-driver APIs only after a compatible candidate has been chosen for the same device information element.
