SPAPI_E_NO_DEVICE_SELECTED

SPAPI_E_NO_DEVICE_SELECTED means that an operation was invoked without a selected device information element in an HDEVINFO set. Some SetupDi calls use an explicit SP_DEVINFO_DATA parameter; others rely on the currently selected member, which must be established first.

What to check

Pass the intended SP_DEVINFO_DATA explicitly where the API supports it.
If using selected-device APIs, set the selected element after creating or enumerating the device information set.
Do not assume enumeration implicitly selects the last item returned.
